Hi, I’m Martie!

I’m an LPN and a Certified Health Coach through the National Society of Health Coaches. In addition, I’m a certified Level 1 Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition (PNL1). I love being a coach, because I’m combining my lifelong interests in health, natural living, and self-improvement with a special skill set that allows me to help others in a unique, and hugely beneficial way.

I get to use words like “life-changing” or “transformational” when describing the benefits of what I do! It doesn’t get much better than that!

I’m passionate about helping people become healthier in mid-life for two reasons:

  1. As a nurse, I’ve seen the negative outcomes of poor lifestyle choices and I’m motivated to help people try to avoid/prevent that. There is no magic pill, and the best chance of avoiding negative outcomes is preventing them in the first place.

  2. As a human being, I’ve faced the same struggles and challenges as anyone else! I get it. I’ve been there... I AM there! No one is perfect, certainly not me! I have learned some things along the way that can really help others live healthier lifestyles!

Changing habits and health behaviors is not easy. I’m motivated to help others find ways to overcome their frustrations and unique challenges so they can start feeling better and living better, now and in the future.

In my free time, I’m usually reading or learning about something health or wellness-related. Like I said, it’s something I’m passionate about! I’m also passionate about reading and learning, so that’s pretty convenient! :)

In addition to my coaching practice, I currently work full-time as a home health nurse. I’m newly engaged, and my family and friends are a priority to me, so things can get a little busy at times! In my me time, you’ll usually find me “playing outside” - hiking, rock-climbing, adventuring, biking...

I dislike winter, salmon, and working out in gyms. I love nature, music, cake and summer. I have a misunderstood cat who can be mean to visitors...

As you can probably tell, I’m not so good at this “about me” stuff!

To see if we’d be a good fit to work together, join my Facebook community! We can chat! I hope to see you there!

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
